Postcard collection is a popular hobby of the people of US, UK and the countries of the Western World. In India post card collection is one of the popular hobbies of the people of the country. Through the collection of different post cards we get a clear picture of the socio-cultural heritage of US, UK and other countries of the globe. Postcard Collection has become an important hobby in US and countries of the Western World. In US there is a library called Natural Trust for Historic Preservation is involved in the task of preservation of various kinds of Post Card. In this library different post cards pertain to different phases of revolution took place in US and the role of the warriors, statesman involved in the task of doing so. In various parts of US there are Post Card Archives have been set up. The purpose of setting up these archives is to get an insight about the history, socio-cultural and economic aspect of that country. Same thing we find it in various parts of UK and countries of the Third World.
There are different types of Post Card Collections we found in US. These are household archives, local archives in different libraries of US, Governmental archives and archives maintained by corporate bodies of US.
In US we find some interesting anecdotes about one archive, named Colorado State Archives. In Colorado there are around 840 persons available in this archive. All the postcards preserved in this library depict the tourism industry of Colorado visually and the real life style little bit after the Great Revolution of the year 1776 to the year 1900. All the collections preserved in this archive represents main street scenes, town panoramas, amusements and quiet often illustrates the changing scenarios of transportation throughout the 21st century. The collection of photographs also depicts the life styles of Denver and the Moffat Road . There are inquisitive travelers and the research scholars of the country will be benefited through the postcards preserve in this archive.
